AtlantiCare works with Lime Energy to improve energy efficiency
AtlantiCare recently completed an energy efficiency project with Lime Energy, reducing its overall energy consumption by 15 percent and making the health system eligible to participate in New Jersey’s Pay for Performance Program, an incentive program available for commercial, industrial, and multifamily buildings to earn rewards based on successful energy reduction.
Lime Energy worked with AtlantiCare to perform energy audits, identify and validate energy measures and implement a comprehensive utility plan at three locations: AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Atlantic City Campus, ARMC Mainland Campus in Pomona and the AtlantiCare William L. Gormley HealthPlex in Atlantic City.
At ARMC Atlantic City Campus, approximately 10,500 square feet of thin photovatolic film was applied to exterior windows of the original building; a combination of 7,000 light fixtures and bulbs were replaced throughout the hospital’s Harmony Pavilion patient tower; dioxide (O2) trim kits were installed at the loading dock to minimize carbon dioxide emissions and maximize efficiency of the boilers by reducing natural gas consumption; a new high-efficiency 500 ton chiller was installed; heating, ventilation and air conditioning controls were added to all mechanical rooms; and the exterior underwent weather stripping, door realignment, roof caulking and sealing of all building air infiltration.
Similar upgrades were completed at ARMC Mainland Campus in Pomona and the AtlantiCare William L. Gormley HealthPlex in Atlantic City.
